BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PLANT AND ITS PRESENCE

Sacha Inchi is a plant from the Peruvian Amazon. It is grown both in high and low regions of the jungle. Known in Peru already in pre-Incas cultures. It is a creeper, partly lignified, grows up to 2 meters high. It has green leaves and small white flowers, from which the fruits are born. They light-green fruits have the shape of four, five, or six armed stars. As the fruits ripen, they get more brown, and inside the seeds, separated from each other, are crated. The seeds, also called nuts, are a true nature’s treasure – an incredibly rich source of unsaturated fatty acids, which are necessary for human health and life.
Sacha Inchi is commonly consumed in different forms – cooked, baked, roasted, or as an addition to different dishes. The taste and the look both resemble regular nuts. They are an amazing, incredibly nutritious diet supplement. The possibility of preparing them in different flavors (sweet, salty, or spicy) makes them a great alternative for potato chips, or other, often unhealthy, “snacks”.
