The bark of a trunk, with many cracks and scars resembling spikes, if cut, gives birth to transparent resin. The flowers of Ubos bloom in white, and are small and full of great smell.
The ripe fruits resemble golden plums of sour taste, and are rich in vitamins A and C. In the Peruvian phytotherapy the used parts are: leaves, fruits, and bark. Thanks to the rapid speed of growing the tree is commonly used for the populated areas to build hedges. Not only do these hedges provide shade, but also alive, natural, handy “drugstore”.
